Visa debit card not credit card chargebacks

Hi I am enquiring about visa debit chargback on item namely a garden shed that I bought 20 months ago which was not fit for purpose and was faulty. It was ordered and paid for online using my visa debit card. I have been reading a little about debit cards and only found out yesterday that chargeback even existed that is why I have gone over the 540 days. I did make contact with seller to request exchange or refund but after they asked me to send them photos of the shed I could not get hold of them again. I paid 199.99 for the shed and if I would have known about chargebacks at the time I would have put in a claim. Certain things paid for such as services in advance that you don't receive can be claimed after the 540 days. So I was wondering if anything can be done about the shed. As it is like a service i.e protecting my items over a period of time. I couldn't afford to replace the shed I had to use it as the stuff I needed to store was dangerous. So most items became unusable, due to damp. Am I too late can anyone let me know wour answers would be great full. Thankyou

Mail them the photos and enclose a Letter Before Action giving them, say, 2 weeks to replace the shed or to process a refund.0 -
Firstly, there aren't debit or credit card chargebacks - they are scheme based e.g. Visa chargeback.
They are normally something like 120 days from when you get the product or when it should be supplied. You are well past that.

I said "like a service" and me asking wether or not it is a service wasn't the question I was asking by any means. Also although the shed is a "produc"t then they are still providing a service which has to uphold certain standards. So you are completely missing my point. But thanks for making your point it was a great help. Regards0

OK.
It's not "like" a service.
It's "like" a product.0 -

So, making clear that no way a shed can be classed as a 'service' answered your implied question that you failed to ask directly, but asked to "let you know our answers" to. There was no a single question mark in you post. Also although the shed is a "produc"t then they are still providing a service which has to uphold certain standards. So you are completely missing my point.0 -
I meant chargeback lol. I am fully aware that the debit card chargeback is not compulsory or should I say carry as much weight as paying with a credit card as this provides product protection and is governed by a section 75 of the law. I also know that you only have 120 days from the day you become aware of the fault or problem with your product to make a claim. Although it is not 120 days from when you purchase the product this is different as their is no timescale if a fault was to arise although they have a cut off point of 540 then no claim for fault can be made. That is what applies to my card anyway maybe yours is different I dint know. I was simply asking as I wasn't made aware of any of this when I bought my shed or any other items for that matter until recently does anyone know if they will extend the timescale. Maybe they will maybe they won't that is what my post is asking because I do not know. It just says certain circumstances such as a service note I said such as they might consider my claim as I was oblivious to a chargeback full stop. But it might have been my responsibility to already know. Thanks0

You are deluded I am not saying their is no point in the difference between services or products. Obviously their is a point. It was an example of a reason why the timescale is lifted. Fair enough I compared it to like a service. I was asking if their would be any other reasons for them to extend the timescale based on the fact that they do actually extend the claim for things such as services. So I wasn't saying you missed the point meaning a product is a service or vice versa. The point was could their be any other reason for extending the timescale such as like when they do extend it for a service.0

Also I was asking as they provide visa chargeback for both services and products up until that cut off point. So if their is cause to extend it for one their maybe cause to extend it for another. Allbeit for a completely different reason the latter is still the same.0

. As it is like a service i.e protecting my items over a period of time.
Please ignore this comment a shed is not a service.
duly noted.
Although they are both covered for the first 540 days their is a known reason for a service claim to be extended. I just want to know if I could get the same outcome for the product side of things. With a different approach obviously. Regards0
