No. The poster you were arguing with never said anything about emptying a tank in 58mi of pottering to the shops. I'm not trying to win an argument, merely stating a comparator for you.0 -

I guess AlanCarter is your dupe account
Plus i mention FULL TANK numerous instances in OP.
I guess if English isn't your first language you'll struggle with that
English is my first language, but I've assumed not yours, based on the terrible usage you demonstrate; and I don't need several accounts thanks, I'm very happy to make my posts under one - and yes, I would happily say the same things to your face.
Oh, and BTW, quoted from your OP:Recently I filled up a full tank and only got 235 miles from a 48L full tank.
Nowhere do you state tank capacity, only providing a sentence whose meaning is, if English is your first language, that a tank, full, contains 48L of whatever it contains.0 -

I should add the 230 miles were done with about 40 miles of motorway driving. If I had done just city driving Im sure I would have only got 220 out of it.
The new fuel seems to have got the car back to normal operating mode. I will puit a complaint into trading standards or an industry watchdog.
.
I have to disagree i'm afraid. My current 2.0 cdti car can vary anywhere 580 to 900+ miles on a tankful of fuel, depending on how and the type of roads it is driven on. This is also based on brim to brim calculations (is that what you refer to as Fuelly?) over 70kmiles and 2 years of driving.
Equally, you probably have more chance of plaiting fog than getting a fuel station to agree that it was their bad fuel.
Anyhoo, glad the problem is solved for you now.
P.s. I also had a Nissan 300ZX that could empty a tank in under 100 miles, but agree this argument has no bearing when we are discussing normal road legal fuel consumption. :beer:Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
londonTiger wrote: »Yes I did you didn't read my post you assumed.
You assumed again that the fuel tank is 48L. The fuel tank is 55L, the reserve is 7L and I use the fuelly system to measure economy so I always fill up on fuel light and fill to the brim. I always fill between 48L and 47L
This was already stated in the OP. But you didnt read, you assumed you did.
A good example of thinking that what you've written can be readily understood by other people when in fact it's not clear at all. Anyway, I'm out now.0
