Tredegar Park Golf Club, Newport - Wednesday 25 May 2005
Tredegar Park Golf Club is working in partnership with Newport Council’s Sports Development Unit and Golf Development Wales and inviting the area’s women and girls to tee-off at a free taster session.
This is one of many golf clubs across Wales taking part in the initiative developed by Golf Development Wales and Ryder Cup Wales to encourage more people - particularly women and girls - to take up golf in the run up to the Ryder Cup, which descends on Newport in 2010.
Clubs across the length and breadth of the country are organising a free taster day followed by six free lessons for groups of between six and ten women.
All equipment is provided and professional golfers will be on hand to share their expertise.
Around 70 women enjoyed a similar session held at Llanwern Golf club earlier this year.

That sounds interesting and it's not far from me. The only problem with golf is that it costs a fortune to carry it on doesn't it? Or has membership cost become more reasonable nowadays?Torgwen..........
