Applying for a credit card without risking credit...

Hello all,
I'm Steve and I have one credit card with my current bank.
I also have a Help to Buy ISA with another bank - Halifax.
I want to apply for a Halifax Clarity credit card to take abroad with me - no stupid credit limit or anything, just around £1000.
However, I am in the process of getting a mortgage, and I don't want to risk damaging my credit score by getting rejected or something.
What can I do? Should I just apply? Or is it not worth it and should I just use my exisiting credit card (that charges) instead? Can you do joint applications and will that make it easier to get the credit card?
Thank you all in advance,
Steve

My advice is to hold off any applications for new credit until your mortgage funds have actually been drawn down.MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

I wouldn't risk it mid-mortgage application you don't want anything spoiling that.
Nobody can tell you if you will or will not get the credit card the only real way is to apply. You could use the eligibility checker but it's only a guide.
You can't get a joint credit card. You could apply and have another party as an additional card holder but ultimately it is your card.
As I said at the start in your situation I just wouldn't risk it getting the mortgage has to be your priority.0
