How to reuse an old full-size snooker table

Options
Around one year ago I was given a full size slate-bed snooker table by a friend who was moving. It had been dismantled years before and he had never had space to use it.

I agreed to take it because the thought of such a beautiful piece of craftsmanship being scrapped was painful for me!

One year on, I realise I need to get rid of it. The table is sitting in pieces in the garage and I have no space to put it together.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I could reuse or recycle the table somehow. I don't want it scrapped.

Ideally someone would give it a good home, but there just seems to be no demand at all for these full size tables.

Advertise it on your local Freecycle group or find local community groups, such as boys/girls clubs scouts/guides etc.

Is the slate in good condition? Put it on ebay, you'll likely have people who just want the slate, could get 70-200 for it, and they'll take the table as well

Can you put plywood sheet, then tablecloth and use it as dinning table?

Or, as The Beverley Hillbillies called it, the fancy eating table.

You could you use it as a bed.and when you want a game of snooker take the mattress off.

Now that's a great idea! Only problem is getting it up the stairs.

I've tried getting rid of it in the local freecycle group and nobody wanted it.

The slate is in perfect condition, but I just feel bad selling it off to be used in kitchen worktops or hearths. But I suppose I have to be less emotional about it.

I'd love to find a good home project to use the legs for. It's too low for a dining table, and too high for a coffee table.

What about contacting a local youth centre to see if they could make use of it?

    regards

Unfortunately there's just no demand. Everyone is getting rid of their full size tables and nobody has the space to take one.

Mine's in so many parts that I think unfortunately I will have to find another use for it.
