Looking for the cheapest device to steam prime / iplayer / itv / 4od and 5
I currently watch on a roku (think its the first version) but the box is getting old and I am having to re-set it (turn off and on) every time want to use it.
A new roku is a bit expensive plus I keep reading that you can't get prime on roku (don't understand this, as I do, maybe isn't available on the newer boxes)
Whatever I use must be able to stream prime and the 4 free to view catch up channels (I know ITV isn't available on everything)
One last consideration my internet is slow only about 3mpbs average. I have a smart tv which does have prime but my internet is too slow for it to work
I don't have an issue streaming through ruko or now tv (have a now tv box upstairs)
Thank you

Fire TV?
If you're having trouble with internet speeds a wired connection can help.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

fire tv is a bit expensive, I will wait to see if that is the only option.
I have considered that but the tv is a long way from the router, the lead would need to go across the living room. It still might be an option as it would be the cheapest way.0 -
you can use powerline adapters instead of running cable across the room,
ill come back to this when I get a chance to see if you can get itv and 4od0 -
buy some homeplugs , then you will get a better signal to the TV
why not order a 5 m or 10 m lead from amazon/ebay (sale or return) and see if having a wired connection solves your TV problems THEN either upgrade to homeplugs or change ISPSave a Rachael

unfortunately still no 4OD
I could get a stick and now tv just for 4od but the sockets near the tv are already overloaded. Ideally I just wanted one device for all so just the one plug.0 -
