London travel over the weekend

hi guys,
Hoping you can help me please :-) I am due to travel from Reading to London (including underground) for the next four weekends on BOTH days.
Other than me getting a travelcard each day, is there a cheaper alternative please? I have a Network rail card already so, it is cheaper but, wondering if you could get a weekend travelcard or something??
Any help is gratefully appreciated!
thank you,
Anna :-):A:beer:

Get yourself an Oyster card for the TFL part of your journey. You can always get a refund of any you don't use. If you are old enough then use the bus with your bus pass
I think a rail-card gives you a discount on a travelcard as well, so it's worthwhile checking the pricing as it might work out a bit cheaper overall.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Not sure posting this query on the Energy board was the best decision and probably won't get you the best responses, but this MSE article explains how to get the best rail fares

I know you can include underground travel in a rail purchase, but not sure if that is the best value for you.
If not, you can buy TFL travel on arrival as and when needed. You don't need an Oyster card nowdays as all TFL accept contactless cards

As above. Daily capping applies on contactless debit cards, so there's no point in paying out for an Oyster card.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I could never understand how the rail plus travelcard thing works, but every time I fly from Gatwick airport, the ticket seems to include a London Transport zone thing, with flexibility of routing to the tube station.
If you get 1/3 off the whole ticket, could be on to a winner there.
Santander 123 credit card
3% cashback at all major petrol stations, and on National Rail and Transport for London travel, including Santander Cycles (on combined spend of up to £100 per month).
Alas: A £3 monthly fee applies.
I'm sure some moderator will magically transport this thread to its rightful place. Bon Voyage.0
