Hi all,
I have flights booked with ryan air through on the beach for may, I can no longer go on the holiday and have only paid the low deposit. on the beach are telling me to cancel I have to pay the balance of the flights with is over £300!!
I am planning to cancel my debit card so they cannot take the money as I don't have it!!
does anyone know will they chase me for the balance?
any one have experience of this?
have looked at changing dates and transferring name but the fees are horrendous

Your agreement is for the full deposit.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

what does that mean?0
-
its means you have to pay, and cancelling your card wont help they can still take it0
-
It means the full amount of the deposit they asked you for.0

You have an agreement with On the Beach to pay a full deposit.
from http://help25.creativevirtual.com/onthebeach/bot.htm?FAQ=0&userlogid=3681736044&entry=I+cant+pay+my+remaining+deposit+payment+in+time+can+I+please+extend+the+date&ident=4060068693196830792955
if they want their money they could ultimately take you to the small claims court, just cancelling the card does not get you out of your obligations to pay the full deposit.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
How can they take it from a cancelled card?
I realise they may try to get it off me, but that's what im asking has anyone had experience of it? Would they bother for £300?0 -

Yes they will as Ryanair will chase them, because you have authorised payment to them

Basically you do not seem to understand the word deposit and it means to pay a amount against a product, service with a view that you will pay for the complete balance prior to taking it, Should you decide otherwise about taking it then the deposit in almost every case is still required by the Company and cancelling a card will make no difference as you have to pay as per your agreement.0 -
looked at that link but that's about recurring bill payments, this is not a recurring bill payment, guess ill have to wait and see!0
