  • all this was just to ask a simple question and for some advise.

    I'll save you some money.

If you think you have a case - write to the LL and give them a chance to pay.

This is small claims. Solicitors costs are not allowable expenses.

    You'll spend £3,000 chasing £1,000.....

Shared ownership is a scam IMHO and have you really researched it well enough

Thread in 2 weeks: I Used a solicitor to Sue my old LL and lost, now I need to pay £2,000, but shouldn't the solicitor have warned me that I could lose?? I don't just pay for things that I've previously agreed.

Shared ownership properties still have a landlord. A worse landlord than a private landlord.

You have little option but to agree to anything your landlord wants to do to the property and you have to pay 100% of the cost of any maintenance including paying for the share owned by the landlord.

A private landlord cannot pass general maintenance costs on to tenants.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
