A good cheap Tablet?

I know good and cheap is rare, but looking for a tablet for my son to play his games/apps on and watch videos etc

any recommendations

Amazon Fire (out of the box) is limited to Amazon Apps. Your son might want an ANDROID tablet such as

It's hit and miss. There are several apps I've been able to sideload an APK on for and run perfectly, but others (eg snapchat) I can install, but whenever they are opened they say that google play services are required and they close again.

I would get a proper Android tablet over a Kindle Fire any time. I've got both. (The Kindle was a present, and I don't like it at all.)
