Water leak which is at time only

Hi I have a leak which drips only at present which comes only at night the pipe is located in storage cupboard near to my electric boiler it seem the leak coming from joints
I can send picture but not sure how to upload on to forum page

Or is some one advise what cost would to get fixed or if there is a diy to get fixed

Is it definitely the join? Are you certain it's not running down from somewhere else? We thought a solder joint in the pipe work in our boiler cupboard was leaking but it turned out to be a compression joint on the water scale filter. It had to be removed and refitted with a new olive.

Always worth doing some detective work with some toilet tissue to pinpoint the exact leak. Dry the pipe as best as you can then tie a single sheet of TP around the suspect leaky joins until you find it.

If it's a compression joint (likely) it might just need a small amount of tightening. Two spanners (one to hold the fitting, another to tighten the nut) extremely gradually until it no longer leaks.

If it's a solder joint you'll need a plumber in.

It might be "night time only" because the leak is enough to empty the section of pipe until the heater is next used (e.g. washing hands before making dinner).

Don't forget it could also be condensation (likely if it's very cold water inlet in a warm cupboard).
