    Did you tell your partner?

You mentioned in your first post about them not knowing this time, so they know this has happened before - or is it a case of you are scared to come clean to them?

When you say all your DD's will bounce and you've spent all your wages, how will you pay for food?

Do your wages normally go into a joint account?

You have taken a massive step admitting that you have a problem so you should take the positive out of that.

Would your partner be willing to take over your finances, even in the short term? For me I needed to put up as many barriers as possible to stop me physically stop myself having a bet. That meant not carrying large amounts of money round, blocking access to gambling sites and getting rid of my smart phone to name a few. I would suggest that you do these things as well to remove as much of the temptation as possible of wanting to have a bet.

Gambling: The sure way of getting nothing from something.

  • Hello. I wish you have a calm day with some gentle music to make you feel happier. You should do something else than gambling and maybe a group could help you feel okay about stopping that. I think you need to look at all the money coming into you and make a home for all the money. The biggest and most important thing you pay is your mortgage. If you fall very behind with your mortgage you could be be very miserable. I am so happy that your bank are being kind and understanding. You will get your finances so much better when you stop gambling. Good luck.

    Welcome to the forum.

Debt is a outcome of the gambling, and although it weighs on your mind, it can be dealt with.

From experience, it is far worse to find out about this from other sources then having the conversation, no matter how awful you feel or how bad you think your partner will feel. Even if you managed to sort out your short term money issue, the elephant is still in the room, so to speak.

This forum has lots of people that have gone through similar experiences so you are not alone. I found this site a true comfort in my darkest days when I couldn't sleep because my mind could not rest. Use it, and the people on it to help support you through.

    Good luck

    Yeah thanks
Sorry if you think I wasn't being helpful I thought I was being helpful.

I know it is very hard as I have also been in loads of debt spending my money each month, hating myself and then not being able to pay the bills. I have worked hard at stopping myself spending\gambling and it is a challenge I face each day.
Thankfully now I am able to keep control of my spending.

Your situation will get better as long as you keep trying to help yourself.

All the best and hopefully you will be sorted as soon as possible.
