Debenhams Store Card Help to claim PPI

Hello
I have realised I was miss sold PPI on a Debenhams store card taken out in 2002.

I have read other forum messages that say it's really difficult to claim for this card so I am a little anxious about starting the process.

When I took out the card I felt pushed by the sales assistant in the store to take out the account cover and felt like I couldn't say no. I got the impression that she was on commission to sell the insurance. It was Christmas and the store was very busy so I agreed to progress the process.

I don't have my original agreement form as I don't think I was given it but I do have my first statement which stated my original agreement was taken out with GE capital. The card service was taken over by Santander and again by New Day.

Do I contact GE capital first?

Does anyone have any experience of a successful claim with Debenhams? Any top tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks In advance

Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't take my contract out with NewDay which is why I thought it would be GE Capital. Do I start with NewDay and work backwards?

When companies buy accounts they can end up with liability for complaints on those accounts. GE Capital sold their store card business to Santander who sold it to NewDay so you start with the people who own the scheme now.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Dont you start with the company eho sold it to you.
This is before regulation which started in 2005 so expect to be rejected
do you have any thing on paper to back your claim up. He said, she said is not proof

Yeah but Debenhams will bounce it as pre2005 so might as well go to NewDay and cut out the middleman
