Prepayment meter - switching supplier; how does it work?

I can reapply in 60 days, but I'll check out the other providers first.
Should I call Experian and see if they can tell me anything?
Can't imagine your score will change much in 60 days - you can, but is it worth it?
Experian don't make the decision, BG do so they all you would find out was if there was something wrong on there.
Details in the MSE article above about which suppliers charge, credit check etc for changing the meter.0 -
EDF is my next choice, but first some more BG ping-pong as I just realised the emails they sent me included some meter readings, but the electricity reading is in the future... It will take me a while to reach that reading. To leave them I'll have to give them final readings, and giving them a reading from the past will sure cause some issues*.
I have no idea where they got readings from. I never gave them any.
*Similarly, I've spent a little bit of time with them today trying to convince them that my house number exists and the one in their database does not (as per Royal Mail)0
