I would use a dedicated comping email address, helps filter the inevitable spam, but having said that be very careful about ticking or unticking boxes, some are dead sneaky as in 'Don't not tick here if you didn't not mind if we don't send you no stuff from carefully selected third parties.'
Check your junk/spam every day in case a 'Congratulations you're a winner' one has snuck in there, but ignore the ones with links to click which declare you have beenSelectedto have the chance to win £1000 of vouchers.
Think the best advice I ever had was to enter and forget. Treat it as a hobby, and have fun, if you win something that's an added bonus.

treat is as a hobby - if you come in to comping expecting to win, then you may soon get disappointed0

Read every email you get as i nearly missed one of my wins as the subject didn't make it clear
also remember that you may have entered a lot but they may not close for a while - i've only been doing it a month but having looked back through the forums a lot of the ones i have entered are still open despite having filled them in a few weeks ago.
