Budgeting software and websites ?

Options
Is there a thread in here on this ? I thought I'd have a crack at it after a failed attempt last year, but most comparisons I see are US-centric. I looked but didn't find. Has anyone tried MSEs website budget planner?

I'm looking for something reasonably straightforward, don't want to be connecting to credit cards or banks and automatically downloading my transactions (handy as that might be its too risky for me I'd rather type it in manually)

I'd want to see a good set of reports and trends, reports on type of spend, perhaps a breakdown below that, let's say for groceries, oeg as well as spending £200 on groceries, £100 of that was LIDL, £59 Waitrose and £41 Fortnums, and for utilities, £1000on power at a high level, lower detail how much on gas and electricity.

Plus be able to add regular payments, eg paying off loans, car finance, insurance whatever. And be prompted to add these type of common weekly/ monthly/ annual payments in as part of the start up process.

    UK MSMoney free.

more report options than you could ever dream of.

you can break down your spends by where they were and what they were for.

eg in a single entry for say Tesco you can have £10 food, £15booze, £5personal hygiene, £3 household, £2cd etc.

have been using it for a while and ticks all the boxes so far... also it can be synced via Dropbox or equivalent and can be used across devices should you wish. (I do this all the time on my laptop and Android tablet.. quite handy really)

    Yes.

Search for YNAB and MS Money and AceMoney.

Treat post #5 with some caution, looks very much like spam to me - especially since the exact same text was also posted on a thread about YNAB.

Thought so - a new member, only posting about a product. Sorry, unless you have permission from MSE Towers, that is spam in my book.
