Company Car

I use to have a company car and get a P11D.
My company has now made me by my own car which I have to use for business as well equating to 25000 approx business use 5000 personnel.
They have said all I am entitled to is the standard fuel allowance 40p and 25p for business.
This is not covering the cost of buying and running the car.
Should they have given me a car allowance as well when making me swap?

It looks like they are giving you the 40p in lieu of a car allowance
HMRC advisory fuel rates for running a company car and claiming mileage are much lower
Does your contract say you get a company car?
If so you may decide to refuse their offerChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
It's not a fuel allowance, that 40/25ppm will be deemed to cover everything. What were their reasons for getting rid of company cars? 25k miles a year would justify one, at the moment it looks like they just want a risk-free way to support their business model.0

My company (G4S ) are doing the same thing whenever they get the chance They cut their costs, no insurances or lease cost.We only get 25p a mile, which is pathetic. You can claim back the difference ( between the max allowance which I think is 42p a mile ) against tax every year. You have to fill a form in with your annual mileage which has a maximum mileage against which you can claim. It works out to be a couple of hundred quid a year for us which can cover some costs. At 25p a mile we can make a profit every day doing , say 100 miles with petrol being cheaper we get £25 and spend approx roughly £12 or less on petrol. Our cars can do 60 to the gallon driven carefully on the motorway.0

the hmrc rates are 45ppm for the first 10000 business miles per annum which drops to 25ppm thereafter.0
