I had no problem opening a Tesco Current Account with 3% interest on upto £3k without having to switch accounts.
What some may not know however is That tesco will not allow the advertised second account to be opened if you already have a Clubcard Plus account.
    hope this helps

They both go to the same application page. ;)

Aye but the wording above the switching one made me think you had to switch. Annoying that it's not clearer, although it does take only 2 seconds to work out what's going on :)

Do you need to prove your identity when opening a second tesco surrebt account?

I didn't know anyone who qualified as a person who could witness the photocopy of the documents for the first application, so I had to go to the post office who charge for it- so that's just eaten into the expected return, and I don't want to do that again....

    Hi Holmesy999,

No, you don't need to do it again for a second current account.:) It should be straightforward.
