LLOYDS BOWMAKER/RIGP finance- ppi claim

After Martin's latest show, I realised I still had my paperwork from a motorbike loan with RIGP finance. I was made redundant at the time, and they didn't honour the ppi, I struggled to make all the payments, but completed the loan with no late payments.
Am I still able to make an historic ppi claim. The agreement was a 4yr loan back in 1994, ending in 98.
Many thanks for any advice.

If you want to complain it was mis-sold you would normally complain to whoever sold it to you, this would probably be the bike dealer unless you approached the lender directly yourself and the lender sold you PPI. Unfortunately the bike dealer would not have been regulated at the time so can just dismiss your complaint without even considering it.
If you want to complain about your redundancy claim being turned down then you will more than likely be time barred as it is well past the three year time limit from when the redundancy claim was declined (which is when you ought to have known you had reason to complain). It is also well past the 6 year limit from when you purchased PPI.0 -
I understand what you're saying. When I was made redundant, and turned down for the insurance help I'd paid for at the time, ppi awareness was not as well known about as it is today. Last year I recieved a substantial payment from a credit card company failing to pay out after I was also made redundant in 2009.
I only discovered all my paperwork after a recent decluttering session. I've enquirer with LLOYDS, will keep you posted.0 -
Whilst normally you would be expected to be timebarred from reviewing the claim, because of the PPI issue many firms are looking at where people could have claimed or were given wrong information about their claim. This has led to some people receiving claim payouts rather than complaint payouts where the claim has been reopened.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
