    As long as the Paypal invoice isn't for a gift purchase (ie it's an invoice for goods) you will have protection. In fact for Money Maker's benefit, Paypal give MORE protection than Ebay. 180 days in fact.

    Thank you chancesare and all you other helpful members. The seller relisted the item on eBay and accepted my first 'Best Offer.' I paid through eBay using PayPal and the item is on its way to me.
