Just a bit of an update - my boss put me on garden leave yesterday and I have a disciplinary hearing on Thursday. I've spoken to ACAS and they've talked me through the process following the hearing but other than that, weren't that helpful.
With regards to benefits, I'm really struggling to fill in the application forms. I've been through entitledto to get an idea of what I should get, but I don't the JSA application asks about the student loan my wife gets, and I don't know how that will affect things.
I've also tried ringing CAB but the number just goes through to their telephone advice service and I can't get to speak to my local CAB.0 -
her student loan will be classed as income, but that wont matter if you're applying for contributions based JSA.
it would affect housing benefit and council tax support though0 -
I don't understand why a student LOAN is classed as income though, as it's a loan that needs paying back at some point. Seems a bit odd.0

It is income that you have at this point. The loan only becomes repayable once your wife is earning above a certain amount.0 -

Plus, not all of the loan is taken into account. There are some disregards.0
