I just looked on my noodle credit file, and i notice an account opened with jaca mo in 2013 from my previous address.
The account is in my name. I moved from my previous address in 2006, any suggestions as to what to do, as i think this could have a baring on my credit file?

Has the criminal who took the account out in your name been paying for it or is there a lot of money due on it?
Sounds to me like identity theft pure and simple. As such you need to report it.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0 -

to get a crime number.
Then complain to jacamo that the account is not your and that they have been a victim of ID. That unless they investigate and remove their entry from your credit report, you will be taking them to the FOS and reporting them to the ICO for breaches of the Data Protection ActFree/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

tried to record the crime on the above link, but little success as i had not lost any money directly. i just telephoned jacamo, and the story gets even more confusing. I explained I was a victim of identity fraud and wanted the aco!!!! closed, and to come off my credit report. Really helpful lady placed me on hold and spoke to there internal investigations department. She came back to the phone, and said, the company owes me £50.00 and have tried to contact me. I explained, this was not me, but the lady asked for me new address, and said a cheque would be sent to me, which will lead to the account being closed, and thus coming off the credit report.

Pay the cheque in or don't pay it in but keep it somewhere safe if you like in the off chance they ask for the money back.0 -
