If you suspect a current drain then put an ammeter in series with the battery and see what its reading.

Granted, but it's then very hard to pinpoint on a modern car the underlying cause. It's not like you can pull a fuse like in the good old days - different systems might be turned on or operating unexpectedly, hence draining the battery - not because they are faulty but because something completely unrelated is keeping one of the buses from going to sleep. Plus, disconnecting the battery to place an ammeter in series could cause its own issues. If you suspect a current drain then put an ammeter in series with the battery and see what its reading.

Starting with common failure modes suggested here - water ingress around the fuse box - sounds like a good place to start. This will no doubt be feeding various control modules who won't enjoy bad connections.0 -
The Mk2 Megane is known for water getting into the doors affecting the controller. Renault's fix was a subsidised repair replacing the entire regulator, which still left you shelling out £100 a window if the car was under 7yrs. I got wise after the 3rd attempt. Have a look at ebay item 171755629399. That will solve your windows. Quite possibly unrelated to the other issue.0
