Best/suitable bank account

Options
Hi guys
First post ever on here so please bear with me. Im looking for a new bank account. Martin will not be happy with me but ive stayed with Barclays my whole life (normal bank account). I have my pay put into this and all of my bills like rent, energy, phone, gym etc etc.

Im looking to change my account to have the most money i can have. Ive heard bank account give money for switching, is it worth it? I also have a savings account and a help to buy isa. Does anyone have any reccomendatiins for bank account? I have no venefits from barclays right now and no reward for being a loyal customer for 23 years. Would like to see some more money if possiblr haha! :p

Thanks!

  • Hi

Thanks for that! I dont think i have enough for the santander account, i definetly dont have £3000 or will do in the very near future to get the benefits if that makes sense? Thats my understanding of that account that i have to have £3k in the account to have the benefit? Or does that matter?

The Santander 123 is pretty crap now for most people anyway.

TSB Classic Plus is a good one to go for.
    Only £500 per month required
Not only the 5% interest but the possibility to earn up to £5 per month cashback with the contactless debit card for 2016.
(And should you have some spare dosh there's the regular saver...)

However to get the switch don't you need 2 x DDs?
(No, please don't point me to T&Cs- I already have this account!!)

Had you thought of a Tesco current account?

    3% on up to £3000.
  • Never really thought of tesco to be honest thank you. Are you allowed two current accounts from two different banks?

Me too. But my idea of "the most money I can have" is pretty big: 100 quid doesn't cut it. If you want to break your back and probably your credit history by chopping and changing bank accounts go ahead. But you might find that good service is worth more to you.

But if you must join the MSE crowd: 100 quid plus best service - First Direct
