Internal Oak Doors - Pre finished or unfinished?

Please can somebody help as I'm going quite mad trying to find out the difference between pre finished and unfinished doors.

We have been told that prw finished doors will need touching up with clear varnish but elsewhere i have read that the whole pre finished door needs clear varnishing. If this is the case whats the difference from unfinished?

Any carpenters out there that can advise please? xx

A pre finished door won't need varnishing, except maybe on the edge where it might need shooting in, the clue is in the name
