Laptop Help

Options
Posting this on behalf of brother in law.

Rang me earlier to say his laptop wont boot up, (a drop of tea landed between two keys). He doesn't think the liquid dropped on the keyboard has made any difference, he thinks its just coincidence.

The message in dos say's ide:0 wont start (or something like that).

i'd suggested trying to boot up in safe mode, but I don't think this would work. Is there any trouble shooting he could do from dos, such as scan disc, or anything.

I'm no expert as you can prob see from this thread, but any advise would be good.

Was it working ok before the spill if it was then the spill has something to do with the fault and may have not only messed up the keyboard but damaged other components as well!.
From the dos message it would indicate a problem with the hard drive obtain the exact message that is shown.
