OVO energy not taking Direct Debit. Why?!
My Ovo Energy fixed Direct Debit of £117 was meant to be taken out on Monday. It's now Friday and they still haven't taken it. I've checked my emails and Ovo account log-in daily for any messages as to why, but to no avail. Has anyone had this happen to them with Ovo before? If so, what reason (if any) did they give you as to why?
The background to this is as it's Winter I increased the amount from £108 to cover higher use. I did this around a fortnight ago, so it should have been enough time for them to change it their end, right? The due date hasn't changed at all.
They made a statement on the 25th (when the DD was due) which has put me £71 in debit, so I would like them to take the £117 to cover that and put me back into credit. I am so confused as to why they've done this especially as it's the peak season. Thanks in advance for any help or info about this issue.

No. That wouldn't have given them enough time to reconfirm to you the new amount that was coming out. It would have breached the terms of the DD guarantee.
However, I would have expected them to have taken the original amount, rather than nothing, unless if is now being delayed due to your request, and their need to give you the sufficient notice.0
