Change in flight programme

I booked a holiday package to Croatia, flying from Birmingham to Dubrovnik. Ive just received an email from my travel agents saying the flight programme has changed and flights are no longer going from Birmingham, and we now have to fly from Manchester. My travel agents said we can cancel the holiday if we're not happy with this but we would lose the deposit of £500, or we can change the destination but we would have to stay with the same tour operator. I thought that this classes as a major change and we are entitled to full refund or to change the holiday to a place of our choice?
I live a lot closer to Birmingham (1.5 hours) than Manchester (3 hours) so it will cost us more in fuel and parking (we could have got a lift to Birmingham), and with the flight being early in the morning we would have stay in a hotel the night before, costing more money.

What do the T&C's say for your package?0 -
Agree with above and check T&Cs but I am pretty sure that an airport change is classed as a major change and as such you should be able to cancel and rebook with whoever you please. Regardless of the rules, the travel agent needs to fight your corner. This has come up before & ABTA got involved, the overturned the companys terms & conditions and customer got full refund. Good Luck0

Who have you booked with? This could make a difference. If its one of these operators that package flights, hotel, transfers etc together then this could be why you are losing your deposit. If its Thomas cook or Thomson etc and its a proper package then you should be able to get all your money back and rebook as yes it is a major change.0
