  • I used up a foaming facial cleanser i got free gift with purchase in estee lauder. I had to use it as a shower gel as after 2 years i used it twice. It was too dry for my face. It was kind of wasteful and decadent, but worse if no use could have been made of it.

I targeting and aim to get as much finished as possible
    1. a tester of gentific serum by lancome
    2. urban decay eye primer in champagne
    3. clarins testers
    4. Everything balm
    5. max factor concealer in ivory
    6. pot of gold eye shadow

I will try and use up at least one of these items in my morning make up routine- if not all. It is a challenge to try and vary everything else.

UU a few bits (samples) at swimming pool tonight:

Garnier ultimate blends sleek restorer coconut & cocoa butter shampoo sachet- Wmba love the scent of this but I've had the full size before and I *think* my hair didn't like this so much. Either this or the cranberry one can't remember which one of them dried my hair out.

As above, conditioner sachet- Wmba for same reasons as above.

As above, hair oil sachet- WBA I really want the full size of this when my current oils are gone. It smells lovely and seems to do a nice job.

Hotel shampoo mini- Wnba can't remember the brand it wasn't anything special smelled nice enough. This only had a little left in so I mixed it up with the Garnier sachet to use it up.

I replaced the l' occitane shower gel in my swimming kit with an Nspa raspberry mini shopped from my stash. Night cream is also very low and I expect it to be done tomorrow evening as I'm scraping it off the sides of the pot now.

I recieved March glamour mag in the post today also and noticed that there will be free gifts with the April issue, elemis I *think* (I'm too cold to get out of bed and find the magazine) but it has the choice of an eye cream, shower gel, lip balm and something else with it I think.

Eta Lucia I know what you mean about the once a week bath habit! :) I have too much bath stuff, I'm obsessed with buying them (being good now though haven't bought any since Xmas sales) but currently when it comes to it I don't bath more than once a week at most as it takes so long with our bath. The cold tap doesn't work which is frustrating, as I have to use a jug and fill it up with cold water from the sink and dump it in the bath to get the water a suitable temperature. takes ages! We have a mixer shower on the bath from when we didn't have a step in shower, and up until the middle of last year I could use that to rinse my hair but now I have to physically get out and use sink water to rinse it. Kind of spoils it for me currently. I'm lazy so most of the time I find it easier to jump in the shower. Our house us for sale and although I will miss it I do hope we can find somewhere with a decent bath that works properly. I want a corner bath. Then I can really enjoy all those bath bombs I've stashed :)

VALM- well done on getting your new lipstick, you'll have to crack on with that one before it goes the same way.

    I have some uu's

Monu Recovery Balm - this was a sample size bottle from a beauty box and DD used most of it as a face cream to help with her dryness/eczema. It is gorgeous, feels lovely going on, smells of rose geranium (a fave of mine) and did a good job on dryness. I used the last bit as it was too hard for her go get out of the bottle. WBA

L'occitane Immortelle Precious Cream 15ml - this was very nice to try but the price of a full size is , it does melt into the skin beautifully, didn't break me out and moisturised well but I didn't notice any amazing benefits and I can get all those things from other creams for less money. WNBA

I know I intend to wear it more.

Another UU : LE C&P 200ml. HG product however I only have a 30ml tube left. I am taking the remains of a TBS Tea Tree cleanser and facial wipes with me to York. I'mhave left the 30ml tube out here for Emma to UU and when that's gone I intend to pull out the S&G cleanser that came in the OOTW kit.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Morning all... still here, having missed December and January. I bought cotton wool pads in Dec and that was it. The reason I missed is that there was an absolute deluge of lotions, creams and makeup offered free for review from the usual 'river source'.
I was also extremely busy with work which limited my leisure time online.
So there was no buying of unnecessary toiletries but a lot arrived on the doorstep.
Anyway, I'll be in and reporting UUs of some of the above... Good luck, non buyers and enjoy your bits and pieces.

    Hi And
Pleased that you are OK I have wondered how you were getting on. We have sunshine this morning, it has shown it's face a few times this week and the spring flowers are looking cheerful:D Still plodding on with the challenge, due a couple of items soon, but I didn't buy a single thing in the sales, so quite pleased with that.

VAL - I hope that you have a great time in York, I would love to revisit sometime, but quite a long way from here:( Great news about the replacement lippie.

UU's are slow and the body lotions will never get used up if I keep forgetting to use them:o

  • mcculloch29 I love love love your signature. So true!
    Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £110
  • Few INs to admit to! I went to Lush. I had set myself a £20 limit as I had some Christmas gift-money left but only spent about £14 so it could have been worse!

    10. Yummy Mummy Shower Cream
    11. Prince Charming Shower Cream
    12. Lover Lamp Bath Bomb.
    13. Rose Bomb Bath Bomb.

    Also some UUs
    9. Superdrug Vitamin E Micellar Water. WNBA. I find the Vitamin E range very hit and miss. Some of it is absolutely great but not this one. Glad to move on to a Garnier one.
    10. Sandalwood and Clove candle. WNBA. This is, I think, a Tesco own brand one. It smelt really nice but tunnelled horrendously, could not rescue it. Lasted about four hours over two days and I'd guess two-thirds of the wax is still in the tin.
    11. Primark Sweet Pea and Lavender candle. WDBA. This burnt down immaculately. Not the strongest scent throw but it's a lovely scent. Plus it was £2 so can't complain!
12-13. 2x Real Techniques Brush Cleansing gel sachets. WDNB. It did powder brushes ok but no better than anything else I've used. As for my liquid foundation brushes, it didn't make a single bit of difference. I used both 10ml sachets for six brushes and still had to use shampoo on my foundation brushes after. Absolute rubbish.

    One TA too:
Lush Roots hair treatment. WDNBA. I think I've said before that I have had no joy with Lush haircare and this is no exception. I really tried with this but it did nothing for my hair and was really difficult to get out. Plus it smelt like BO and toothpaste.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Pamper yourselves!

VALM - hope you enjoy York.

binbong - apparently the best thing for cleaning brushes is fairy liquid. I imagine it works really well on foundation brushes.

And - hi there, glad you are OK.

    I have a uu

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic - this was a full sized bottle, WBA I really enjoy using this.
