I've recently done a postal appeal to PE for a friend following an accidental overstay on a pay and display carpark. To my surprise they have written back saying they are investigating the matter. Is this usual for PE?

    Sometimes you get a short acknowledgement like that. Maybe they have a slight backlog at the moment. They are not investigating anything except where the next pile of money is coming from.
