Windows and doors advice please

Hi Experts
I've just had a quote for all my windows and doors to be replaced. It's from a good local firm that has plenty of local recommendations but I'm worried about the price and if I'm getting a good deal. In total it's £12,880.
That's for 2 stable doors with 9 glass panels in the top and one cottage style front door with one glass square at the top - they are all wood coloured UPVC.
The windows are in a French opening style with both windows opening (10 of).
2 small fixed panel (In a porch).
I large fixed panel (non opening) and1 small opening.
So 17 in all - they are all wood coloured UPVC.
I have also opted for monkey tail handles for the windows. So it's 20 items in all.
Can anyone give me a reassurance that I'm getting a good deal.
Many thanks in advance for advice or for sharing how much your windows were.

My home had windows a couple of years ago - 22 windows, and 7 external doors, for under £8000, just going by memory!
You are requesting an unusual specification - stable doors, coloured pvcu (urgh!), French windows (not sure if this means inward opening?) etc. This means costs go up, as do margins and the work is likely to be a good earner for the window company. So either change your specification, or shop around.
Add to this there is no mention of quality, accreditation, Buildings Regulations, guarantees, or any technical data. Hence it is difficult to give firm guidance. But bear in mind the products you are being quoted for might be dire quality and fitted by cowboys - just because the company has local recommendations does not mean it is a genuine good company.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks Furts. Yes the quality is top notch and the French means all the windows open out with no central bar and yes I've had upgraded locks and fixtures on all the windows. So I'm guessing it's o the expensive side - I hear from neighbours that is great working with this team. Many thanks for your helpful thoughts.0

If you can afford it and that is what you want fine.
I would get a couple more quotes locally and negotiate until blue in the face.It look like a meaty order and the window companies will be fighting over this golden egg.
I would say price isn't everything and go with your instinct.Bear in mind you won't be buying this again so get what you really want.0 -
Why don't you consider timber windows instead Upvc?0
