Logitech 250 USB Headset - no one can hear me?

Options
Hi all,

Hoping you can help - have a new USB headset for use with Skype and Voipcheap.com - 'plug and go' it says, I can hear people but seems no one can hear me. I have adjusted all the sound settings in both Skype and Voipcheap to recognise the Logitech headset but no luck.

Windows audio settings are set to Logitech too.
Plus no volume setting anywhere is low or on mute etc.

It says drivers for it are installed automatically, but I suspect this hasn't happened - Logitech website is rubbish and doesn't provide drivers to download (because it happens 'automatically').

Can anyone help, before my family and friends disown me for harassing them with silent calls? :o

I was going to sugest that you make sure that the USB headset is set up as the device in use for skype within the skype settings.

you then also need to make sure within windows that the 2nd audio device (your USB headset) is active and working win the mut not selected etc. It does get a little confudleing when you use USB devices as they are treated like a 2nd soundcard installed in the PC.

As a USB device it's probably configured automatically.

    Could be a hardware fault.

You may have sound recorder software, I'd try selecting the headset as the input device and see if it picks it up.
  • Are you in space?
  • In Skype go to Tools > Options > General Tab > sound settings, Here you can adjust your mike volume ect. you can also click on Make free test call, which will allow you to check what others hear, and keep family and friends happy. Hth. Alan

Hi all, I tried the Skype test call before posting, it wouldn't record my sound. I then tried the system sound recording, it wouldn't record my sound either. I had also already set Skype up to recognise Logitech for all audio settings, also setting Windows audio with Logitech for all settings. Then I lost the will to live and posted here to ask you guys... thrown away packaging last week, so can I even send it back to Amazon, or do you have any other suggestions?
