how to download from phone to laptop

Leaving it for now, doing my head in, all I want to do is put some photos on my facebook page. Thankyou all for trying to help, I'm just to thick.

I got around this by downloading file manager to my phone and somehow I managed to navigate and find the photos (that didn't show up by plugging in via USB) through that.

If that's all you want to so then can't you get the FB app for your phone and add the photos from there without going through the laptop? I will admit that I don't do it that way myself because I don't like the app, but I know how to get photos from phone to laptop (I now use the Google Photos method described).

If you're using a cable twixt computer and phone you should download and install Kies. It can be a pain but maybe the way to go is email, as said, or get the FB app.

recommended in post 9 , but it was too much like hard work , the OP hasn't even bothered to tell us which of the 6 galaxy models the phone is ,

I had exactly the same with a Windows 10 Lenovo laptop I bought 3 weeks ago. Nothing could make the phone be recognised.

And then I eventually got the latest Windows 10 update, which solved the problem. Simple as that, so just go to Windows Update and see if a Win 10 update is pending and then download and install it.

I'll download windows 10, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Ace, I only got it when I changed jobs never had need of a mobile before.

Thankyou all for your help and advice, after tying different things, I read somewhere about Bluetooth and managed to get my phone to connect to the computer that way, thankyou again
