Thank you for this - Im doing a degree with the OU but didnt get an ac email so sent off a copy of my NUS extra this afternoon - fingers crossed its ok!

You do get one as an OU student, you have to have a bit of a hunt thought Student Home to find the link to sign up to it. But you can register for one, it's run through Google Mail, but you get a .open.ac.uk address.

Got it! Sent in a copy of my NUS extra card on Sunday evening, got the email on Monday and was watching fims by the afternoon! I also registered the NUS Extra card for an additional 5% off selected items - thanks again to the OP
