Midland Bank & AI insurance

A very long time ago I had a bank with the then Midland Bank. During my time with them; and I don't have any idea what the year was, my bank account was upgraded and came with various 'bonuses' including insurance etc. one of them was the AI scheme (Sentinal) and insurance for loss of credit / debit cards etc. I'm sorry I never kept this information. I have followed up on the AI scheme but I believe it did not go back to when I first started the scheme through the 'bonuses' that came with my midland account.
Is it possible that this account could be classified as a claim for PPI and also a further extended claim for the AI scheme?
I realise this is an account and its bonuses are related to a bank that eventually became HSBC but would thes recorded be available and are they subject to the PPI and AI claims that are current?
I hope someone can positively advise but it is; I know, a very long shot.

    No. Sentinal is not PPI.
and also a further extended claim for the AI scheme?

The redress method used for Sentinal was defined. If you dont fall within that criteria then you do not qualify.

Do not seek to confuse PPI with other forms of insurance. In addition, it is not somehow wrong to have insurance (even PPI). It is only if you can show that it was somehow mis-sold to you that you stand any chance of a refund.

You say Sentinal insurance cover was part of an old Midland Bank account you held, but if the time period is outside the scope of the refund scheme then you don't qualify. You also cannot complain that it was PPI since it clearly wasn't!

If you had some documentary evidence of the account and it's benefits, you could make a complaint direct to HSBC about the actual insurance being of no use to you. However, as you have no documents, it's unlikely that there are any records left.
