Can anyone confirm for me whether or not a Samsung UE40H6400 bought in the England is capable of receiving Irish Television here in Northern Ireland.
It will be in an area where other televisions seem to have little difficulty in picking up the overspill.
While the set has been discontinued by Samsung it still seems to offer some great features at a reasonable price. I do appreciate I may have to do some aerial work. It is capability I'm interested in.

Is it Freeview HD? Quick check - Channel 101 should be BBC1 HD, channel 1 should just be SD.
Tech specs say it has a DVB-T / C Freeview tuner.
From a very quick read of the net - it's just Freeview SD, not HD.
Any TV with Freeview HD can pick up Irish Soarview (with the right aerial, in the right place, pointing in the right direction) but it looks like you might be out of luck here - Samsung's tech specs page is terrible BTW.0 -
No it is sold as a full HD tv. Here is a little of what Which? Online say about itHailing from Samsung's popular 6-Series, this Full HD TV has premium features at an affordable price. You can watch Freeview HD TV, catch up on your favourite shows via BBC iPlayer or browse the web with smart TV. Enjoy a 3D movie, or record and pause live TV with the PVR functionality (if you add a USB hard disk drive).
Can I take it from that then that given what you said above it should be able to receive brodcasts from the Republic? Here is the speck as advertised on John Lewis Website

Got my problem solved today. Yes it is capable of receiving broadcasts from the Republic
Had a friend up today and he examined my settings and I had no power going to my PROception signal booster. Once I turned it on and re scanned all RoI came up. In addition I also got back RTE 1,2, and TnaG out of Belfast. I'm happy0 -
Good stuff.
Freeview HD = can receieve Soarview.0
