Boiler pressure low after radiator bleeding

I recently had a plasterer in who removed the radiator in order to plaster that part of the wall. When it was fitted back on the water was emptied out to make it lighter to fit back on (and prevent dirty water from spilling everywhere), meaning i had to bleed the air out of it once it was connected in order to fill the water level back up. A few hours after i had finished we lost the hot water throughout the house for taps and heating. Looking at the Baxi Combi boiler it's 'Fault on Pressure or Pump' light is now flashing. It seems like the system has not been able to replace the water.

According to the manual the first step is to call the Service Engineer. I'm more than willing to do this but i just wanted to check first if there are any simple fixes i could do first before calling one out.

Thanks in advance.

On combi's there's a filling loop , your manual should show you were it is, normally just a case of opening the valve until normal pressure is reached and then shut off again.

Somewhere near your boiler should be a valve that will fill your system. Turn it off when it's at the required pressure. It will probably worthwhile bleeding all of your radiators encase air has found its way around your system. Do it with the central heating on and check the pressure regularly.
  • Excellent. That seems to have done the trick. Thanks people.
