Bank account with bad credit rating

Hi there, guys. I've recently checked my credit rating which comes up as fair. I would like to try and get a new bank account, so I was wondering, do banks take on new customers with this kind of credit score? Also what does fair actually mean? Thanks in advance.

Yes with this credit score you can open most basic bank accounts/standard current accounts.. You can even get some interest current accounts e.g TSB Classic plus I got that account with a fair credit rating...

so what bank are you with now??

Are you at the top end of fair or the bottom end of fair rating??

You got any defaults or black markers on your credit file??
