Making a planning application (LBC)

I need make an application for replacement of a couple of defective and leaking doors. Can anyone explain the process of making the application? I've looked at some applications on the planning website and there are photos, drawings access plans etc. How do I know what I need to send off? Or will they ask me for photos and plans after I make an initial application. I wouln't know where to start with half of it!

Thanks

I presume LBC is Listed Building Consent not Lincoln Borough Council.

Talk to your Listed Building officers first about what you want to do no point asking to change a door if they want them lovingly restored. They will guide you as to any paperwork.

Yes listed building consent. The doors are actually new, well 2012 installed by the previous owners so it shouldn't be an issue and we like the style its just unfortunate they are poorly made and installed.

Straight like for like replacement shouldn't need an application. Or were the previous doors installed illegally?

If an application is needed simple sketches and some photos should suffice with the standard application forms for such a simple job. Usually the local conservation officer at the Council is quite approachable so if in doubt give them a call.

My understanding is that only emergency repairs can be done without consent. The previous doors were fitted as part of a renovation and had consent. They are just poorly made a fitted unfortunately.

I've found a handy pre application advice service on the council website so ill feel this out and see what they say.
