Hi I've phoned both of these companies to ask if I have paid any PPI over the years and they said no. Will they say no even if you have paid? Also is there some sort of credit file where you can check if you have paid any PPI? Thanks

That would be fraud. So, no. They will not do that on purpose.

However, it can sometimes happen that old accounts do not show the information. So, they answer no as they cant see any. However, further digging in manual records may find a plan that is not on their current system.

No. PPI is not something that appears on your credit record. It appears nowhere in the public domain.

I assume both of these are closed accounts from what you have said. Its different with open accounts as its far more obvious.
