  • My wife went into town today and both Dingles (house of Fraser) and Boots clinique counters are doing free skin consultations and you usually get two or three samples to try based on your skin type. You dont need vouchers or codes just ask. Its very free and quick with no forms to fill in.
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

2011 WILL be a good year!
  • recycler, what a nightmare! Thanks for sharing. I'm undecided whether to go or not. It seems a bit hit and miss what sort of SA you get. I just want to take the samples, try them in the privacy of my own home and be under no obligation to go back if the samples don't work for me.

Since I got preggers my skin has got absolutely nuts, so I may just nip down and see - I've been using a free pack I got by buying 2 products from estee lauder with a night repair serum and lifting moisturiser - I'm absolutely amazed by the difference in my skin, but the spots round my jaw are still botehring me.

Will let you know ho I get on, and if there's form filling!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

  • Just to add, I went into Boots in Watford today and the free consultation, liquid soap, toner and moisturiser gel. No questions, no appointment booking needed. Went to John Lewis after that and got the same, but had to book an appointment to go back in a couple of weeks. It's no biggie...I don't think they really care if you don't turn up for it. Just give a wrong name and phone number if you're bothered about them having your details...

I went for a consultation, and was given a week's free supply. The lady at the counter gave me a form to fill in, and it went downhill from there on. I only put in my name and address, left out my phone number. She pressed me on that point, and I said that I didn't particularly like getting calls. She said that she needed to follow up, and I said that was fair enough, she had my address and could write.

She told me that I needed to come in a week from now. I pointed out that I didn't get out much, but would pop in the next time I was in the area. She said fair enough, but wanted me to book an appointment now. I informed her that it was scarcely on for Clinique to insist that I come back. And so on and so forth, until she agreed to give me her number so that I could book when I knew when I was next in the area.

Have rather gone off Clinique now!

My experience was under the same theme: nagging SA!! I went to a John Lewis counter (after having been in a Boots one some days before, where I was quickly served) and tried politely to have the samples. The SA said she was alone, so she could not do my "consultation" (I wonder if she is a doctor ), so I had to book an appointment. There was no one else in line and the store seemed pretty much empty!! I booked for the next morning at 9.30 but had loads of stuff to do, so only showed up at around 11. Her colleague was there, but there was "no way" they could do it then, looking at the appointment book (where there was only one appointment, mine!!) could I return around 3pm...I don't go to that much trouble for a doctor's appointment.

I just wanted the samples... I was so fed up, I thought of writing a letter to clinique complaining. the cheek on these SA... No samples are worth it.

I have to admit I love getting samples and trying out the stuff, and I do end up buying some times, but these clinique ladies made me feel awful. Who do they think they are?
