Can I get a refund after a year?

Hi,
Last January I decided to join a gym which was supposed to be opening up nearby through lifestyle fitness. I paid £32.99 for the joining fee and first month however, the gym didn't open and my membership has been passed on to JD Gyms which has taken over the build, and is to open in March. After seeing the proposed new layout, I don't think I'll be comfortable in the new gym so would rather cancel and join a ladies only one. We weren't actually notified until the end of November about the change.
Am I entitled to a refund and who do i go to?
Thanks in advance

No, you would claim from the new provider, if the contract was sold on.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Slightly confused.
Have you been paying a monthly gym membership since January 2015 for a gym that wont be open until March 2016? If so, thats the route you want to go down in regards to possible cancellation, however all depends what you signed at the time.
Cancelling because you dont like the new proposed layout of the gym, Id guess you would have slim to no chance of success. Unless the contract specifically mentioned the layout etc.0 -
The new owners bought the contract with the take over so it is legal.
You will now need to prove there has been a significant breach to your contract that warrants the "frustration of the contract".
The new owners are who you approach regarding the refund.0 -

Thanks, no lol. I haven't been paying every month. It was just the initial fee and then monthly payments were to be made once the gym opened however they kept on postponing the opening date.0
