I believe opening up the Halifax Student Account will not contravene both Nationwide and Halifax's T&Cs.
I never heard of Nationwide offering student accounts - Halifax's T&Cs also do not specifically forbid people from having other accounts, so long as the 'main source of income' goes to Halifax.0

As far as I am aware the nationwide doesn't offer a specific student account because their flex account is so good it is comparable with student accounts therefore I don't think there is an issue having a student account and a current account.0

That's true from what I am aware. Back in my student days I had multiple student accounts and the banks new this. I was told I could not benefit from the free overdraft and all the fancy facilities unless my grant/loan went into it so there was no point in having more than one.
The nationwide is a good current account to have and would compare to most student accounts but I would have a student account as well.0
