ScS Sofa Guard 5-year protection is it worth it? any experiences?

I bought my sofa from SCS a few weeks ago it is due for delivery in 4 weeks time.

The sales lady managed to persuade me to take out the sofa protection plan, I think this was £400 on top of an already expensive sofa.
I was told it covers any accidental damage, If the fabric cant be fixed the sofa would be replaced. Up to 5 years.

I thought it was important to take it out as it is a light grey fabric sofa.

I am now having doubts if its worth it? Does anyone have any experience with dealing with a claim?
We just have basic home insurance so I don't think It would cover anything like this.

To add accidental damage to a household policy will cost much less than £100 a year and it covers you for everything in the home, not just a sofa.

Agree with Daveyjp...if you are concerned, then the home insurance would be better value.

But how often have you damaged furniture in the past...possibly not often!

And they may offer it at a lower price if you asked them to not buy it.
