As tomorrow I'll be working all day I've already shuffled the money for the end of the month.
Earlier in the month after making the £400 OP I decided to split any excess 75% savings and 25% OP.
This is still the plan - I haven't changed my mind again!
So £195 to savings and £65 OP made :T
It feels good to have some left over after a lean couple of months. Especially after a lot of socialising this month, mainly owing to the 5 family birthdays. I'm hoping to do even better next month.0 -
I am also a frequent mind changer but whether it's savings or OP, it's all good!Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857

Well done for the great OPs and for having a surplus only a couple of months after moving house! And a very well done for sticking to the plan :T

Thank you EC and I'm glad I'm not the only one floppy!
Everything has now arrived to access the mortgage online banking. I got the laptop out last night and hubby thought I was checking the balance when in fact I was buying a domain name for my friend as I still haven't completed the work for her. Luckily she knows I'm busy. Maybe it is better if I check the balance today after the monthly payment has gone to it anyway :rotfl:
Yesterday whilst driving out of our driveway I noticed the tree at the very end has apples on, I'm not sure what type, or even how I work out what type but I'm very pleased as I had not realised we had an apple tree!
It's making me feel like autumn has arrived, apples and blackberries on our drive and rubbish weather.0 -
Yesterday I didn't manage to check the mortgage balance even though I spent an hour or so on the laptop in the evening. I did get our green garden waste bin renewed though, we didn't have one previously and it is coming in quite handy with the larger garden here. I was surprised to learn you could put your Christmas tree in it.
i booked and started putting together an online shop for Thursday. I think this new shopping routine is working better for us, or maybe it's just because we are now building supplies back up after running it down for moving.
There are repair bills coming for DD1s car, it is currently in the garage. I'm sure we will have to help her out but I was very proud to hear she has £200 saved which she can use towards it. I know it's not a lot and it won't cover it but I think this is the first time she has saved anything, despite my attempts to steer her in that direction!0 -
We have a green garden waste bin (@ £36 pa) here (it's a choice - our neighbours don't have one and put their grass cuttings in their black bin - which they're not supposed to do) I love the fact that the Xmas tree can go in there - so much easier than before (we used to take it to a recycling point up the local hill, where it would be shredded and used on paths - this way means no needles in our car
) We have 2 compost bins, but I don't use them much for garden waste - grass generally goes in the green bin (along with the guinea pig hutch contents (permitted)- I found both of these messed up the compost bins too much), along with prunings. I think the only stuff from the garden which goes in the compost is spent compost from pots and bedding plants (and past-t windfall fruits)

It definitely feels like crumble season is approaching. You've timed your move very well!Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857

I can't wait for crumble Floppy, that's if the rain hasn't washed all the berries away!!
The bin sounds exactly like yours greent. Much less hassle than previous years where we had to wait until nearly the end of January to take it to a recycling point. I have to admit when I read about the herbivore bedding you can put in it I did briefly wonder if they would notice horse bedding - well they are herbivores!
I'm dreading the news about DD1s car, hioefully there should be a quote from the garage today. Food is also being delivered today. I got quite a bit as we are entertaining this weekend, there will be plenty left over to add a bit of variety to our lunches next week.0 -
