Just catching up with diaries. How exciting yours is! Fantastic progress.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Very exciting ,cant wait to hear about the new house.0

Thank you mfd, th & Watty. It's great to have such lovely company on this journey.
Big disaster hopefully averted today with the mortgage application, after thinking there was nothing more we needed to do, just chased it casually to find out there was a big issue with forms missing between mortgage co and our accountant! Hopefully back on track now, but annoying that you have to keep chasing all the time.
A few more boxes packed today, starting to get a bit of momentum now. Also picked up birthday present for sil for the weekend and ordered dog food to pick up at the weekend too. I will need to buy food for us too, but tricky to know what as trying to have as little as possible that will need to be moved. Definitely beer needed for hubby!0 -
I might be a little stressed at the moment.
There are a few people involved in this very simple chain (us and them) for our house purchase. Some are working incredibly hard and going above and beyond to try and make this happen for a date, which was not an ambitious date by any means. The trouble is there are a couple people not even doing their job. Words do fail me. I do hate laziness and incompetence at the best of times, but at the moment it is really winding me up! It doesn't look like we will be moving on the 21st unless a miracle happens now.
A crazy day working as well as yesterday which left my brain frazzled, so I am well and truly ready for the weekend.
This weekend will consist of much of the same as the past few weekends, getting the field ready and packing. Also some hardcore menu planning needed to make sure we end up with an empty freezer for moving (whenever that might be) and don't end up hitting the takeaways too often.0 -
You are so energetic and dynamic. Hats off!
Have you looked at the "waiting to exchange" thread?0 -
Thank you SHS that's made my day
I feel very far from energetic!
I've not looked at that thread, mainly because I'm a scaredy cat and don't want to read any more things that could possibly go wrong.
Yesterday we finally got the bonfire lit so the field now looks so much better. I also got sunburnt, which is most odd. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been sunburnt before.
Last weekend my yard trainers died. This made me happy because I really did get my money's worth out of them, wearing them until they fell apart. However this means today I need to open the box I packed with all my footwear in to get out some trainers to wear today as it was far too hot in boots yesterday.0 -
What a lovely weekend, I hope everyone enjoyed the wonderful weather. I'm really looking forward to it being a long weekend next weekend too.
We spent most of the day in the new field and the electric fence is now in place down the middle (eat one side / rest one side). The grass is growing nicely too ready to fill their bellies. It feels like we are nearly there now!
Meal plan and online shop has been done, so hopefully it will get us through ok. It's so silly really but I have been panicking about running out of food and there being nothing to eat. I'm sure worst case I could pick something up. The freezer and cupboards are looking quite bare compared to normal.
We shall see what today brings, hopefully a mortgage offer!0 -

Thank you greent.
Well the mortgage is all in place, so good news. But there are hold ups now due to vendors solicitor which mean we have had to cancel the removal van and have no new date yet. It will be soon-ish, just don't know when, so really handy for planning! I'm sure I have enough to keep me busy and I won't get too bored waiting.
We've contacted someone to help move the horses and just waiting to hear what dates they can do.0 -
Cancelling the removal van? What a pain! Sorry to hear that though, yes, I'm sure you'll find something to fill the time. Bah humbug to the vendor's solicitor though.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
