Euro Bank account in the UK

Options
Hi everyone

Can I know if is possible to have a euro bank account in the UK?
My uncle sold a house and has around 40,000 euros but the bank in italy has monthly fees that needs to be paid and this is irritating.

On the other hand, banks in the UK are good as whatever you put in your account,it stays the same and there are no charges.

My question is if possible to have the same benefit with euros.

Is it possible to open a euro account that my uncle can send money to and it's free of charge and use?

Thank you

If I had a penny for every time this Q has been asked.......do a forum search. I seem to remember the most recent post suggested Barclays and the Coop do. Whether these accounts are free, or any good, is a different question.

    I wouldn't bank on it.

haha I am reading all the topics but I am a bit confused.
what has been suggested so far is
city bank - but it looks like it charges and there are no many branches(mostly in london)
dkb - doesn't do uk residents (this is what I understood)

My understanding is that is possible to open a euro account in ireland, will this allow me free cash withdraw in euro countries?
-free money transfer and receive money for free etc?
-free of charge account (not like city bank)?

PS: if not possible in the UK, any other country that still gives me the benefits above?

For £ accounts. No charges for € accounts is rather an exception than a rule. And it's for the monthly fee only; there are other unavoidable charges, e.g. for outgoing transfers and, possibly, for incoming.
