earth bonding

Hi
I'm having some work done in the bathroom new suite etc. I have been told about earth bonding but although I'm not going to be doing it, I still like to know how and why things need doing. Can you tell me what work will will be involved with bonding. Will it require a lot of under flooring work. I understand that tags are placed around all the copper pipes and an earth wire is connected to a nearby earth, but I can't see apart from the light switch where this local earth would be found. I'm on a tight budget and I am afraid this will bump up the price. Thanks for your help.

I'm not a professional, but I think that the bonding is mandatory, as it should be if it's a safety issue?Debbie0 -
I think it is explained better here and it also shows you how to connect the earth clamps-
