You've got to be careful in pubs, i've been sick a few times. I might have 10 pints and then the last pint will be a bad one that makes you sick.

Happened to us a few months ago... Went out for Sunday cavery, first person started with 'food poisoning' early evening by Tuesday we all had ' food poisoning' after supplying samples it was confirmed as the Novovirus which is still doing the rounds now..

Even if others have complained it could just be unfortunate that the Novovirus is doing the rounds in your area and a complete coincidence that others in the pub have it....

If there have never been any issues previously with the pub it would be a shame to boycott it now without any proof.

OP take telephone advice from your GP, don't go in though because if it is the Novovirus it can be dangerous for someone who is already in ill health... If there is any possibility of Novovirus you should stay away from work as it's highly contagious.

You can always contact the environmental health department of your local council who can offer further advice. I'm aware that, in some regions, they might bring forward an inspection of the premises if they have concerns which they believe are substantiated.

The symptoms of food poisoning usually present themselves within 1 or 2 days but can start anywhere from a few hours to several months later. If memory serves, it could be anything you've eaten (if it was down to food) in the last 6 months.

Although generally, the more violent the food poisoning, the quicker symptoms will appear. Novovirus is actually classed as a type of food poisoning since it can be transmitted via food if the staff were ill but obviously, its not the only way it can be transmitted.

Try pepto bismol. It helps put a lining on your stomach and you should see an improvement even within an hour or two.

You should be clear of symptoms for 48 hours before going back to work.
  • Did you and your mate wash your hands after going to the toilet ?

Ten pints, that's just a session, I normally slump on the floor after a decent quaff of 15 pints of fine wobbleade.:beer::beer::beer::beer:
