Email trouble. Can anyone help please?

For some reason, the emails from my POP3 email accounts aren't downloading to the inboxes in Windows Live Mail 2012. The error message is:

Unable to send or receive messages for the --- account. The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'pop.freeuk.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10060

Does anyone know how I can make this work again please? Any help greatly appreciated.

Are you logging into the FreeUK service? It wont let you send/receive unless your logged into the service to prevent spammers.

.1 Can I send mail via the FreeUK mail server when I'm not dialled into FreeUK?

No. This is because people were mis-using the open server to send UCE. Only people dialled into FreeUK or sending mail to FreeUK customers can use it now.

What happens if you change incoming to pop.freeuk.net

and outgoing relay.freeuk.net
